TOOTH WHITENING

Teeth whitening

Teeth whitening, is a very simple process that lightens the shade of teeth and helps to remove stains and discoloration with bleaching gel. Professional whitening gels that our dentists uses could lighten the shade of your natural teeth up to 3-4 shades. Teeth whitening gel only works with natural teeth , it won't work with neither composite resin nor porcelain veneers/crowns. Please keep in mind that gel whitening is not a one-time procedure , if you like to maintain the brightness, you should repeat the procedure time to time.
If you are looking for a life-time lasting whitening result for your teeth please check Porcelain Veneers treatment.

What is causing my teeth to become stained?

The most common contributions to your teeth becoming stained are:

  • Smoking
  • Drinking dark-colored liquids such as coffee, cola, tea and red wine
  • Not taking good care of your teeth

Aging also makes teeth less bright as the enamel gets thins and the dentin becomes darker.

The Teeth Whitening Procedure

1.Teeth cleaning - remove the bacteria, food and other substances

2.Gingivitis treatment ( if necessary )

3.Whitenning - Our dentist will use a guard to hold your mouth open, he will then apply a barrier over your gums to protect them from the whitening solution. This barrier is often applied as a gel which hardens to a protective rubber-like layer. Once your gums are fully protected by the barrier, our dentist will then apply a whitening compound to the front of your teeth, a laser is used to activate the compound, which will cause it to foam and it will lift the stains away.

Once all of the teeth have been whitened by the laser, our dentist will then allow the compound to remain in place for a few minutes, and then remove the compound using a small vacuum tool. This method will be repeated up to three times to ensure the best result.
